The color scheme of the Japanese doll illustration. I find it much easier to stay on target with colors when they are laid out.
A sketch of the Japanese doll in traditional clothing. I love dolls. Hope to make more soon!

My current process in creating traditional pieces with watercolor and ink. First, I sketch with a regular pen.
Then I trace over the rough sketch with a different color pencil. Afterwards, I pencil the back so I can transfer it onto the board. Such a long process but I find that it works and doesn’t loose my line quality that much than my original method.

A rough sketch of something that I’ll be inking and watercoloring later. Found this really hard to draw.

My father love making us Tortilla de Patatas. I wish to make a simple book about Spanish food.

Vintage typewriters. I love typewriters! Started this last summer and finally almost done. Can’t wait to start something new!

Been working on character designs all summer long! I’ve tried without the ink outlines and felt that my design got lost in color. I’ve learned to outline my work with ink in college and while I enjoy experimenting, I still like sticking to my original method at the end! I also really love Middle Eastern culture as you can see 🙂

I have always had a love for the Middle Eastern culture, cuisine, fashion etc. Here is a sketch of a Persian Girl. I thought it is time to start working on my character design. I think I love character design because you don’t have to worry about perspective that much. Perspective is the hardest part in art for me. I wish I can one day be able to understand it and do it with ease 🙂

I read that turquoise is a prominent color in Persian culture. I love the Aladdin like tea cup! My next pattern are with orange hues. I’m not too happy about the elements towards the next pattern. So I’ve been brainstorming ideas for future collections during my downtime.

Wanted to play with a limited palette, sizes, and objects. Sometimes keeping things simple is best.

Pomegranate and seeds pattern! This was a very complicated pattern to make because of all the intricate details. Decided to keep the background white because I felt that adding a color background would be too much.
